Award Summary:
Discussion and action on the award of Solicitation 2021-0807 Air & Fluid Filter Elements to RJ Border International DBA Border International Trucks for an initial term of three (3) years for an estimated amount of $393,727.50 for Group I and Group II; and to Muncie Reclamation and Supply dba Muncie Transit Supply Group for an initial term of three (3) years for an estimated amount of $653,479.95 for Group III, Group IV, Group V, Group VI, Group VII and Group VIII. The total contracts time is three (3) years for a total estimated amount of $1,047,207.45. The award of this contract will allow Sun Metro to purchase Air and Fluid Filter Elements required for the maintenance of the transit fleet.
Contract Variance:
The difference in cost, based on the comparison from previous contract is as follows: An increase of $527,492.13, which represents a 101.50% increase due to increase on prices and additional quantities.

The Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing and Mass Transit (Sun Metro) Departments recommend that the contract be awarded as indicated to Muncie Reclamation and Supply dba Muncie Transit Supply and RJ Border International DBA Border International Trucks, the lowest responsive, responsible bidders and that Cummins Inc. dba Cummins Sales and Service be deemed non-responsive for not providing OEM documentation, and RJ Border International dba Border International Trucks be deemed non-responsive for not bidding in all items in Group V, Group VI and Group VIII.
